To understand how Juvederm works, it’s important to know what a wrinkle is:
With time, exposure to the sun, age and other elements, skin components break down. The skin loses structure and volume. Unwelcome lines and wrinkles appear. Juvederm can correct wrinkles and facial folds, reversing the signs of aging.
How is Juvederm different from Botox?
Juvederm uses hyaluronic acid to fill in facial wrinkles such as the nasolabial folds, while Botox is commonly used to selectively relax the facial muscles responsible for wrinkles between the eyebrows (glabella), the forehead, and under the eyes.

Can I combine Botox and Juvederm treatments?
Yes. Clients often combine Botox with cosmetic dermal fillers such as Juvederm. This is easily accomplished within the same session.
How much does Juvederm cost?
Juvederm is charged per syringe used. The number of syringes used depends on individual facial characteristics and personal aesthetic goals. Please contact our office for more information and to schedule your free no obligation consultation.
How long do results from Juvederm last?
Juvederm is the only HA filler that is approved by the FDA to last up to 1 year.
Is injection with Juvederm painful?
Clients should expect some discomfort during and directly after treatment with any dermal filler product. To make the process more comfortable, Dr. Sarma may apply an anesthetic (numbing) cream to the area before injection.
Can I have Juvederm treatment on the day of an event?
We recommend planning your Juvederm treatment at least 2 weeks prior to any special event. While most side effects are mild to moderate in nature, these can include temporary injections site reactions such as redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration.
Can people with different skin tones/colors be treated with Juvederm? Yes. Juvederm is the first FDA-approved HA filler that has proven its safety and effectiveness in persons of color. Studies with Juvederm showed no increased risk of hyperpigmentation or hypertrophy scarring in patients of color.
Juvederm comes in Two different formulations to provide the flexibility to tailor each treatment specific to your unique needs.
JUVÉDERM™ ULTRA: a highly cross linked formulation for more versatility in contouring and volumizing of facial wrinkles and folds
JUVÉDERM™ ULTRA PLUS: a more highly cross linked robust formulation for volumizing and correction of deeper folds and wrinkles
What to expect after treatment
After the procedure: With Juvéderm™, there is minimal recovery or downtime.
For the first 24 hours following treatment, you should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and consumption of alcoholic beverages in order to help minimize the risks of temporary redness, swelling, and/or itching at the treatment sites. After the treatment, some temporary injection-related reactions may occur, including redness, pain, firmness, swelling, and bumps. Studies have shown that these are usually mild to moderate in nature and clear up on their own in 7 days or less. If you experience swelling at the injection site, you can apply an ice pack for a brief period.
When can makeup be applied after my treatment?
Everybody is different; Dr. Sarma will tell you what is safe for your level of treatment.
